    Geithner pressed but fell short

     In an interview with NBC's Brian Williams, U.S. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner said that although the financial crisis started in the U.S., it has spread around the world because of common failures in regulation and supervision globally. (Nightly News)Before Timothy Geithner became Treasury chief, he regulated major U.S. banks, but now he says, "We're having a major financial crisis in part because of failures of supervision."
