    Motorola Beats on Reduced Operating Costs, Sales Still Down

    Zacks.com submits:
    Motorola Inc. (MOT) Thursday declared financial results for the fourth quarter 2009. Quarterly net income from continuing operations was $142 million or 6 cents per share, compared to a net loss of $3.66 million or $1.61 per share in the prior-year quarter. Fourth quarter adjusted (excluding special items) EPS was 9 cents, which topped the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 8 cents. Improvement in net income was primarily due to the huge reduction in operating expenditure. Quarterly total revenue was $5,723 million, down 5% year-over-year and also below the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $5,961 million.Complete Story »

      Zacks.com submits: Dynegy Inc. (DYN) posted its first quarter 2010, adjusted earnings of 24 cents per share, far exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a 10-cent loss and last year’s loss of a cent per share. On a reported basis the company clocked earnings of 24 cents per share compared with a loss of 40 cents per share. The surge in earnings was fueled by higher operating margins.

The company posted net income of $431 million or $1.40 per share, compared to $336 million or $1.10 per share in the year-earlier quarter. Quarterly earnings also topped the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.37 per share.

    • American Tower Receives Neutral Rating After 4th Quarter Financial Results

      Zacks.com submits: American Tower Corp. (AMT) today declared its fourth quarter of 2010 financial results, with significant top-line growth, attributable to the company’s global expansion strategy. Quarterly total revenue was more than $547.6 million, up 22.2% year over year, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $537 million.
