    Wal-Mart Cuts 10,000 Jobs

    Wal-Mart announced it is laying off about 10,000 product demonstrators at Sam's Club whose jobs will be outsourced. Wal-Mart says eligible employees may be able to find get jobs with the outsourcer. Workers who switch to an outsourcer often find that they are doing the same job — but with lower pay and benefits, and less security.       Giant US retailer Wal-Mart announced this weekend that it will eliminate about 11,500 jobs at its Sam's Club megastores in the United States.Wal-Mart President and Chief Executive Officer Brian Cornell said the layoffs will affect approximately 10,000 product demonstration associates, most of whom work part-time.The decision stems from Wal-Mart's decision to appoint Shopper Events, a third-party marketing company, to run its product demonstration program.
