    Nov. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Bloomberg's Doron Levin talks with Deirdre Bolton about Koenigsegg Group ab's cancellation of its planned acquisition of General Motors Co.'s Saab Automobile AB. GM reportedly plans to review plans for the Swedish unit at a meeting on Dec. 1 and is considering shutting the brand. (Source: Bloomberg)

      Swedish luxury carmaker Koenigsegg said Tuesday it was giving up its bid to acquire Saab Automobile from its US parent company General Motors."We regret that after six months of intense and goal-oriented work we have come to the painful and difficult conclusion that we are not going to be able to carry out the acquisition of Saab Automobile," the head of the company, Christian von Koenigsegg, said in a statement.Koenigsegg announced in September that it had teamed up with Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co Ltd (BAIC) to buy Saab from GM.

      STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Swedish luxury carmaker Koenigsegg and Norwegian investors have signed a letter of intent with General Motors' Swedish unit Saab to take over the loss-making brand, Swedish television reported on Thursday, citing unnamed sources.
