    YouTube wins copyright case with Viacom

    A US judge on Wednesday threw out a copyright lawsuit filed against YouTube by US entertainment giant Viacom, handing the Google-owned video-sharing site a major legal victory."The court granted our motion for summary judgment in Viacom's lawsuit with YouTube," Google vice president and general counsel Kent Walker said in a blog post.Walker said the judge had decided that YouTube was protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act against Viacom's claims of copyright infringement.
