    • STOCKS FALL AFTER GOOD JOBS REPORT: Here's What You Need To Know (DIA, SPY, QQQ, TLT, IWM, USO, OIL, BHI)

      Stocks lost ground on Friday to finish 2015's first full week of trading with slight losses. The jobs report on Friday morning beat expectations, but after big rallies on Wednesday and Thursday, stocks couldn't hold their gains into the weekend. First, the scoreboard:

      Peter Nicholls / ReutersStocks closed little changed on Friday after the jobs report showed a smaller gain than expected. The S&P 500 logged a weekly loss for the first time in four weeks.  First, the scoreboard:

    • Oil retreat losing steam? U.S. oil rig count drop the smallest in three weeks

      The biggest retreat from U.S. oil fields on record is showing signs of subsiding. Oil explorers sidelined 41 drilling rigs this week, the smallest drop in three weeks and down from the average 59-rig decline in February. The count has fallen for 15 straight weeks to 825, reaching the lowest level in more than five years, Baker Hughes Inc. said on its website Friday.

    • US Rig Count Hits Fresh Four-Year Low, Says Baker Hughes (BHI)

      Baker Hughes Incorporated (NYSE:BHI) released weekly data on the North American rig count this Friday. The US petroleum rig count fell from 1,267 to 1,192, and hit a fresh low since April 2011. As the news crossed wires, Baker Hughes stock declined to 1.9% at $60.92, as of the closing bell.

      Karen Ducey/GettyOilfield-services giant Baker Hughes will release its weekly count of US oil and gas rigs at 1 p.m. ET.  The oil-rig count is a key proxy for US production levels and shale-industry investment. Robust output has undermined efforts by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting countries to lift prices by cutting output.

      Zacks.com submits: In its weekly release, Houston-based oilfield services company Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI) reported a rise in the U.S. rig count (number of rigs searching for oil and gas in the country), reflecting intensified drilling activity by the producers.
