    Van Natta quits as MySpace CEO

    Owen Van Natta, chief executive of MySpace, has stepped down, less than a year after being brought in to try to turn around the News Corp-owned social network which has been eclipsed by Facebook.News Corp., which bought MySpace in 2005 for 580 million dollars, said the departure of Van Natta on Wednesday, a former senior executive at Facebook, was "effective immediately."Van Natta, who was named MySpace chief executive in April last year, will be replaced by newly promoted co-presidents Mike Jones and Jason Hirschhorn, News Corp. said in a statement.
