    Valmon, Deem named US 2012 Olympic coaches

    Olympic gold medalist Andrew Valmon and long-time collegiate women's coach Amy Deem have been named coaches for the United States track and field squads at the 2012 London Olympics.Americans have won a record 315 gold medals and 744 medals overall in athletics, but struggled at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, a worst-ever US men's Olympic showing contributing to totals of seven golds and 23 medals overall.The appointments were announced Thursday.
