By Nate Raymond NEW YORK (Reuters) - A former chief executive of a financial firm who pleaded guilty to charges related to bid-rigging in the municipal bond market was sentenced to two years probation on Friday by a judge who cited his cooperation with U.S. investigators. Martin Kanefsky, who was the chief of the now-defunct Kane Capital Strategies Inc, pleaded guilty in April 2010 to fraud and conspiracy charges related to his role in manipulating bids by others from 1999 to 2006. Kanefsky is the only individual sentenced so far in a broad government investigation of the $3.7 trillion U.S.

A criminal case that prosecutors characterized as the Enron of health-care financing was supposed to have wrapped up a year ago, when a federal jury in Ohio convicted five National Century Financial Enterprises executives of conspiracy, fraud and money laundering.
