Stocks Worth Buying Before Earnings: Week 6

By Brian Nichols:It's safe to say that last week did not turn out the way I expected; with several stocks trading lower after beating expectations. One reason being a common trend that has occurred throughout this earnings season. During the last few weeks a large portion of stocks have run-up prior to earnings and then pull back after earnings are announced.

By Brian Nichols:Last week turned out great for returning gains, as 4/5 picks were correct, and the total return was more than 11%. In week 3 we will be starting with $21,592, and I am optimistic that this week will return a similar level of gains as week 2 with several fast growing companies announcing quarterly results.

By Brian Nichols:This week will be the third week of purchasing stocks before earnings with an initial investment of $50,000. Last week was much better than the first week, which only returned $798 on the $50,000 investment. And I believe this week will be much better than the last. The further we go into this earnings season, the more we can learn about how the market is reacting to the reports.

By Brian Nichols:Following a successful Q1 earnings season it is now time to turn our attention to Q2; and try to identify value in stocks that could rise following earnings. As Q2 earnings season begins there are still a number of small and mid-cap stocks that are presenting value, as a result of the market's rally being led by large cap stocks.

By Brian Nichols:Earnings season has officially begun, and it's my favorite time of the year. For about 4 months out of the year, I purchase stocks before earnings that I believe will exceed expectations and post large gains, based on previous performance and recent developments. Over the years I have used earnings as a way to return very large gains in short-term trades. Since the market has traded on fundamental progress over the last couple of weeks, I am very excited about the next four weeks.

By Brian Nichols:It is safe to say that in week two of this quarter's earnings season nothing went according to plan. Both of the stocks I held following week one barely traded higher; I had bought Apple (AAPL) at $600 believing it was a bargain for two weeks ahead of earnings, and all of my buys traded lower after earnings.

By Brian Nichols:Over the last four weeks, I have written several articles suggesting stocks to purchase before earnings that have a history of exceeding expectations. I am more optimistic about this upcoming week than any other week of earnings over the last month and a half. This week is filled with undervalued growth companies that are well positioned to post very large gains following their earnings reports.
