    Sinopec to sell $3.5 bn bonds next week: report

    Sinopec, China's largest oil group, plans to sell 23 billion yuan ($3.5 billion) worth of convertible bonds next week, Dow Jones Newswires reported Thursday.The bond issue by Sinopec, also known as China Petroleum & Chemical Corp., would be the Asia-Pacific region's largest convertible bond issuance since late August, Dow Jones said, citing two people familiar with the situation.Sinopec announced the bond issuance plan last year. The company said it would use the proceeds to build gas pipelines and the paper would have a maturity of six years.

      China Petroleum & Chemical Corp (Sinopec) , Asia’s largest oil refiner, will buy half of Chesapeake Energy Corp’s Mississippi Lime oil and gas properties for $1.02 billion, becoming the latest Chinese company to pick up shale assets in North America. Chesapeake shares were up 2% at $20.90 in premarket trading on Monday. The stock has risen about 23% this year. Output from shale fields in the United States and Canada has jumped over the last three years due to the advent of drilling methods such as hydraulic fracturing.

      Shares in Industrial and Commercial Bank of China were mixed Thursday after the country's regulator approved the lender's plan to sell convertible bonds worth up to 3.7 billion dollars.ICBC, the world's largest bank by market value, said in March it wanted to issue bonds of up to 25 billion yuan that would be convertible into its Shanghai-listed yuan-denominated A-shares.The China Securities Regulatory Commission said in a brief statement late Wednesday that it had given the green light to the plan.
