Russia's state bank Sberbank will buy private investment bank Troika Dialog for over a billion dollars, a report said Thursday.Troika Dialog has been valued by the two sides of the deal at $ 1.25 billion, said Vedomosti daily, citing unnamed sources. Sberbank will first purchase 80 percent of the bank with the rest acquired in two to three years, it said.Some sources indicated to RIA Novosti news agency on Wednesday evening that a deal has already been signed but will not be made public due to Sberbank's privatisation plans for 2011.

Troika Dialog has announced the appointment of Todd Berman as managing director and co-head of Investment Banking.
Berman is to take up his new position early next month, and will collaborate closely with Igor Sagiryan to help bolster the firm’s strong position advising Russian and international institutions.
Most recently he worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch as global co-head of Media & Telecoms, and EMEA head of Media, Telecoms & Technology.

Sberbank of Russia has announced that it has signed a general business cooperation agreement with Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd. (MHCB) and ZAO Mizuho Corporate Bank (Moscow).
The agreement involves a broad range of banking activities, of both a commercial and an investment nature, and the increased co-operation is intended to aid Japanese companies seeking to do business in Russia.
Sberbank has estimated that the aggregate financing for Japanese-related projects during the next few years will be around $500MM, with the agreement of MHCB.
