    Palestinians, settlers clash near Nablus, 11 hurt

    Ten Palestinians and a Jewish settler were wounded on Monday during clashes in a village near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, a Palestinian official and witnesses said.Ghassan Daghlas, an official in charge of tracking settler activity, said six Palestinians were taken to hospital and another four were on the way after being caught up in clashes with settlers in Qusra, some 10 kilometres (six miles) southeast of Nablus.

      A Palestinian man was shot and killed near the northern West Bank city of Nablus on Thursday, Palestinian security sources and witnesses said, blaming Israeli settlers.The security officials told AFP the man was shot by a Jewish settler, but had no immediate details on the incident.Hospital officials speaking to AFP identified the man as 18-year-old Uday Maher Qadous from the village of Iraq Burin, southwest of Nablus.His relatives, gathered at Rafidiyeh hospital in Nablus, said Qadous died of gunshot wounds to the chest.

      Vandals tried to set fire to a mosque in the northern West Bank, causing damage to the inside, Palestinian security sources said on Tuesday, blaming Jewish settlers.The attackers set fire to a number of tyres inside the mosque in al-Mughayyir village, some 20 kilometres (12 miles) northeast of Ramallah, which damaged prayer mats inside the building.They also spray-painted "Alei Ayin" on the walls, which is the name of a nearby settlement outpost demolished by Israeli police last week, sparking fierce clashes with the settlers.

      Arsonists torched a mosque in the north of the occupied West Bank before dawn on Tuesday in an attack blamed on Jewish settlers.The mosque, located in Lubban ash-Sharqiya some 10 kilometres (six miles) south of Nablus, was largely destroyed in the attack, said the town's mayor, Jamal Daraghma."The settlers set fire to the mosque. Witnesses heard the sound of their cars near the mosque at around 3:00 am and saw them through the window setting fire to the books inside," Daraghma told AFP, saying most of the mosque had been destroyed.
