At the end of regulation, Lin came through with 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists in leading his team to victory against the New Jersey Nets. After one week, as the Knicks starting point guard, Lin had slapped together 27 / 5 / 8 in points, rebounds, and assists per game averages.

If you pay attention to NBA basketball — and even if you don’t — you may have heard of the “Linsanity” phenomenon. Jeremy Lin, an Asian-American point guard for the New York Knicks, seemingly exploded out of nowhere in February to have the best NBA debut ever.

Lin, the undrafted Harvard graduate, led the Knicks in a seven game win streak and a 10-3 record in his first 13 games as a starter. After this run in February, the Knicks went on a six game losing streak. After the six losses and rumored disruptions with team chemistry, head coach Mike D'Antoni resigned from the team.
