Ricin-laced letter sent to U.S. Senator Roger Wicker
A letter to a U.S. senator containing poisonous ricin has been found, Majority Leader Harry Reid told reporters Tuesday. The letter was addressed to Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi, Reid of Nevada said in Washington. Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana said the letter was intercepted at an off-site postal facility and that the U.S. House and Senate post offices have been closed.

A Democratic senator from Louisiana blocked US President Barack Obama's pick for budget director to pressure for an end to a ban on offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.Senator Mary Landrieu said Jacob Lew, whose nomination got 22-1 support Thursday from the Senate Budget Committee, "lacked sufficient concern for the host of economic challenges confronting the Gulf Coast."
