    Miley Cyrus Grows Up

It’s kind of a silly subject, but I found this NYT article about Miley Cyrus’ pre-teen fanbase getting alienated by their hero growing up to be oddly affecting in some ways. Being 17 is really hard. It’s incredibly difficult for me to imagine trying to do it while being famous and attempting to appeal to a mass audience of 8 year-olds. The article focuses on the idea that the New Miley is “too sexy,” but if you ask me “Can’t Be Tamed” is just very adolescent.
I came across a notebook full of crap I jotted down when I was seventeen recently, it’s all kind of ridiculous just along these lines. But at the time, I was very dedicated to it and it all seemed quite compelling. Which is life, but I’m glad I wasn’t doing it in public.
