'Men in Black III' tops 'Avengers' at box office

Paramount made a great decision holding off "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" until this year.

The raunchy trailers for "Movie 43" didn't help set it over the top at the box office this weekend. Instead, it may have helped steer audiences in the opposite direction.

"The Hobbit" may have held on to the box office for a second week in a row; however, its earnings are nowhere near where they should be.

As the only new wide release out this weekend, it was no surprise that "Star Trek Into Darkness" zoomed past both "Iron Man 3" and "The Great Gatsby" opening weekend. 

With little competition this week at theaters, Michael Bay's "Pain and Gain" easily took the weekend.  Robert De Niro's star-studded "The Big Wedding" featuring Susan Sarandon, Amanda Seyfried, Robin Williams, and Topher Grace was a massive flop at theaters.

"Iron Man 3" blew away the competition at the box office this weekend. Tony Stark's big return to theaters brought in a massive $175.3 million in its debut.
