The third "Men in Black" alien action comedy bumped the mighty "Avengers" from the top of movie box office charts through Sunday and was likely to dominate theaters over the rest of the U.S. Memorial Day weekend.
The raunchy trailers for "Movie 43" didn't help set it over the top at the box office this weekend. Instead, it may have helped steer audiences in the opposite direction.
As the only new wide release out this weekend, it was no surprise that "Star Trek Into Darkness" zoomed past both "Iron Man 3" and "The Great Gatsby" opening weekend.
With little competition this week at theaters, Michael Bay's "Pain and Gain" easily took the weekend. Robert De Niro's star-studded "The Big Wedding" featuring Susan Sarandon, Amanda Seyfried, Robin Williams, and Topher Grace was a massive flop at theaters.
"Iron Man 3" blew away the competition at the box office this weekend. Tony Stark's big return to theaters brought in a massive $175.3 million in its debut.
