    Majesco's New Basketball Game Diversifies The Company

    By Chris Katje: Majesco Entertainment (COOL), the small video game company behind the Zumba Fitness video game franchise, reported some details of its newest offering coming in 2012. NBA Baller Beats will be released by Majesco Entertainment and HB Studios. The game will combine motion based game play and be sold exclusively for the Microsoft (MSFT) XBOX 360 system and its Kinect software.NBA Baller Beats will track player's body and ball movement to provide an in game experience. With this game, Majesco Entertainment enters the high-selling sports video game market. The question remains whether or not NBA Baller Beats can compete with the NBA2K franchise from Take-Two Interactive (TTWO) and the returning NBA Live franchise from Electronic Arts (EA). Here is a look at sales from some recently released NBA video games:

    • NBA 2K 2011 PS3 1.32 million copies North America, 1.68 million copies total
    • NBA 2K 2011 Nintendo Wii 0.43 million
