Facebook's refusal to get on board with industry-wide privacy standards could start to cost it ad dollars, according to Ad Age. The social network is not a member of the Digital Advertising Alliance, which sets an ad industry standard for privacy across the web.

Paris Brown, 17, ended her six-day tenure as Kent YPC – a £15,000-a-year, taxpayer-funded role with the remit of representing young people’s views on policing – following the emergence of a series of inappropriate tweets she had written on a personal Twitter account prior to taking up the position. This account, used by Paris when she was between 14 and 16 years old, came under scrutiny for comments she made on topics such as alcohol, drugs and sex, and her use of language, which was deemed potentially homophobic and racist.

The job search is a challenge unlike any other when it comes down to the variety of emotions and experiences you are faced with. While relatively wholesome in nature, a challenging job search–on its hardest day–can knock even the most confident and sane individual off their feet.

Whilst in years gone by introductions were largely a personal experience like a referral or meeting at a networking event, today we are all connected across our websites, Twitter and LinkedIn. Every day we are being researched and observed by potential contacts we have never heard of…and may never get to if we don’t make first impressions count.

I have a new hero, and her name is Erin. As I was circulating a few final documents toward the end of the day, however, I started receiving an error message from our system. “Error. Can’t Save Now. Try again later.”

Since neither party has been given a mandate to govern, it means that either gridlock will continue or bipartisanship will return to Washington.
