    Jobless Claims Fall; Trade Gap Narrows

    Initial jobless claims fell by more than expected in the week ending November 5, to the lowest level since April. First-time filings for unemployment benefits fell by 10,000, to a seasonally adjusted 390,000, according to the Labor Department.

The previous week's number was revised to 393,000 from 390,000.The four-week moving average, which helps to smooth out week-to-week volatility, confirmed the downward trend, falling by 4,000 to 396,750.
