I’d say an Olympic gold medalist, but she lost her amateur status years ago. When my mom shops, she’s not satisfied unless she’s getting top merchandise for at least 40% off. And like a hunter who can’t wait to brag about the 12-point buck he took, my mother will tell anyone who’ll listen about the $300 sweater she got for $80. But unlike the tales of hunters and fishermen, when it comes to my mom and shopping, the big one doesn’t get away. Everyone loves a bargain, but some people are willing to work harder to get it.
