    By Rupert Nicholson:
    Company Overview
Ford Motor Company (F) has excelled at making cars since 1903. It was the first company to embrace the assembly line concept which revolutionized car making and enabled production on a large scale. It is the second-largest US automaker behind General Motors (GM) in terms of annual sales.Ford is a very strong company. It was one of the few companies to survive the Great Decession back in 1929 and, in the recent recession, was the only one of the 'Detroit Three', Chrysler, General Motors, and Ford, not to receive a government bailout. This beloved company has managed to turn itself from a wrecked, destitute company in 2006, to one of the most profitable automakers in 2012. This remarkable turnaround should be a signal to investors that Ford is headed in the right direction.
    Why buy Ford?
Simply put, Ford is dirt cheap when compared to the industry.Complete Story »

    • Ford hangs onto Canadian sales crown in 2012, Chrysler bumps GM down a notch

Ford Motor Co of Canada was the top-selling automaker in Canada for the third year in a row in 2012 but Chrysler, boosted by demand for its fuel-efficient passenger cars, knocked General Motors from the No. 2 perch. Ford said on Thursday it sold 276,068 vehicles in Canada last year, just 90 more than it sold in 2011. Its popular line-up of F-Series trucks made up more than 100,000 of the sales. In December, however, Ford’s vehicle sales slipped 13% to 16,874.

    • Detroit Gets a Bridge

Christmas is coming early for Detroit:  President Bush has  announced $17.4 billion in loans to keep General Motors and Chrysler running. Yet the gift could not come soon enough. Both automakers were burning cash at a rate that could have pushed them into bankruptcy early in the new year. Both Chrysler and General Motors are idling plants to try to preserve cash.
