AT&T said late Wednesday that it has fixed a security hole that may have allowed hackers to access the e-mail addresses of more than 100,000 iPad 3G owners.

Federal prosecutors arrested two men on Tuesday on charges of fraud and conspiracy for obtaining and distributing the e-mail addresses of 114,000 iPad 3G owners.

The United States Attorney's Office in Newark filed charges against two men who accessed 114,000 e-mail addresses of iPad owners through AT&T's Web site.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation said Thursday it has opened an investigation into a security breach of AT&T's website that allowed hackers to obtain the email addresses of iPad owners."The FBI is aware of these possible computer intrusions and has opened an investigation to address this potential cyberthreat," Lindsay Godwin, an FBI spokeswoman, told AFP.She said the FBI was not releasing any other information about the probe at this time.
