Englund Says US Payrolls Report `Defied' Market Fears

May 6 (Bloomberg) -- Michael Englund, chief economist at Action Economics LLC, talks about April payrolls data released today by the Labor Department and outlook for the economic recovery. Payrolls expanded by 244000 last month, the biggest gain since May 2010, after a revised 221000 increase the prior month. The jobless rate climbed to 9 percent, the first increase since November, a separate survey of households showed. Englund speaks with Betty Liu on Bloomberg Television's "In the Loop." Richard Grasso, former chairman and chief executive officer of the New York Stock Exchange, also speaks. (Source: Bloomberg)
