      An Istanbul court Friday annulled an arrest warrant issued against 102 Turkish officers, including 25 serving generals and admirals, over an alleged 2003 coup plot, Anatolia news agency reported.The court accepted the request for the annulment of the warrant filed by the officers' lawyers, Anatolia reported without providing details of the judge's decision.The warrant was issued against the officers on July 23 after the discovery of an alleged coup plan codenamed Operation Sledgehammer.

      A Turkish court issued an arrest warrant Friday for 102 suspects, among them senior military figures, charged over an alleged 2003 coup plan, media reports said.The court also set the first hearing in the high-profile case for December 16 in a prison complex near Istanbul, said judge Davut Bedir as he announced the warrant, Anatolia news agency reported.Two senior serving admirals and three retired generals were among the suspects included on the warrant, according to the NTV news channel.

      A Turkish court freed three top-level suspects in an alleged 2003 military coup plot hours after the army chief and civilian leadership pledged to resolve tensions sparked by the probe.It was not immediately clear whether the retired generals and admiral would face trial over the plot but the prosecutor in charge said he had released two of them because there was no risk they would flee abroad.
