'Dingo' mom: Yes, some still doubt

The U.S. housing market’s continuing recovery has spurred the formation of real estate investment trusts (REITS) that buy, renovate and rent out large numbers of distressed single-family homes, opening the housing market to investors who have no interest in becoming landlords themselves.  

Australia's iconic dingo may be the world's oldest breed of dog, according a major new DNA study that is likely to boost conservation efforts.The international study has found the dingo and its close relation, the rare New Guinea singing dog, bear the closest genetic similarity to wolves of all breeds tested.The research, published in science journal Nature, appears to confirm widely held theories about the dingo's history. It involved testing nearly 1,000 dogs of 85 different breeds as well as hundreds of wolves.

Barbara Billingsley, the actress who played the ideal American mother June Cleaver in the 1950s television series "Leave It To Beaver" died at the age of 94, a spokeswoman said Saturday.Billingsley died in Santa Monica Saturday after a long illness, said a statement from family representative Judy Twersky.The hugely popular show debuted in 1957 featuring Billingsley in the role of a sweet-natured stay-at-home mom who wore high heels, dresses and pearls as she baked cookies and took care of her two sons and husband. The show aired until 1963.
