Former vice president and activist Al Gore lambasted President Barack Obama's environmental policy Thursday, particularly the decision to allow exploratory wells to be drilled in the Arctic, which he said was “insane." Gore called for a ban of all oil and gas in the region.
The US Department of the Interior (DOI), through the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), has proposed a set of new rules to adjust and add to the regulatory requirements regarding offshore drilling operations in the icy waters of the Arctic.
