The show had a brief second life in 1991, but its dedicated fans always wanted to know more about the Collins family and their pale distant cousin, Barnabas Collins, Now Tim Burton has turned the story of Dark Shadows into a movie. And from this trailer, below, it seems to be a comedy.

But when you consider the movie is about the vampires, witches, and yes, even werewolves, it would have been nice to have had my flesh crawl just once.

Are Women Funny? This is the question behind Yael Kohen’s book We Killed: The Rise of Women in American Comedy. The question may seem a tad simplistic in an era when Tina Fey’s 30 Rock is the most influential sitcom on television and Kristen Wiig’s 2011 film Bridesmaids effectively proved moviegoers would pay to see women headline Judd Apatow-like raunchy comedies.
