    California among 5 states with highest average car repair bills

    California, Wyoming, Utah, Montana and Arizona have the highest average car repair costs, a study by CarMD.com finds. These states are also home to half the nation's top driving destinations.The five states that are home to many of the top driving destinations in the U.S. also have the highest average car repair prices, according to a study by CarMD.com.

    • CoreLogic: Home Prices Are Rising At The Fastest Pace Since May 2006 (ITB, XHB)

      Home prices including prices of distressed sales were up 8.3 percent year-over-year in December, and were up 0.4 percent on the month, according to CoreLogic's latest home price report.  This was the biggest year-over-year increase since May 2006. Excluding distressed sales, home prices were up 7.5 percent on the year in December, and up 0.9 percent month-over-month.

      Car repairs are more expensive on average in California than in all but three other states, a national study finds, mainly because of higher labor costs.Californians pay more to get their cars fixed than drivers in almost every other state.
