    • Brewin Dolphin calls for more QE in the UK

      Brewin Dolphin has called upon the Bank of England and European Central Bank (ECB) to commit to further monetary easing. The firm also said that it would be astonishing if the ECB did not reverse the increases it had made this year to the single currency’s interest rate, which has risen from the record low of 1% to 1.5% during the course of 2011. Brewin Dolphin warned that the dangers the eurozone faced were not limited to recession, but included the spectre of deflation, and forecast a quarter-point cut in rates when the ECB makes its decision this Thursday.
