TOKYO (AP) — Asian shares rose Wednesday as Japan's benchmark surged to its highest level since Sept. 2008 though wariness over corporate earnings pulled European indexes lower in early trading.
Asian markets plopped lower in early trade Friday, after shares fell in the U.S. on disappointing economic reports. Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 stock average was down 1.4 percent at 9231.03, while the South Korean Kospi was off 0.53 percent at 1770.22.
