    Arab Spring bloggers to meet in Tunis

    Some 200 Arab bloggers involved in cyberactivism will gather in Tunis Monday to discuss the role of the Internet and social networking in political change following the "Arab Spring", organisers said.Following on gatherings in Beirut in 2008 and 2009, the third meeting of Arab bloggers will focus on the role of cyberactivists in a period of political transition, Malek Khadraoui, event organiser and administrator of the Tunisian site Nawaat, told AFP.

The release of Ali Harzi, a 26-year-old Tunisian, appears to represent a blow to the investigation of the Sept. 11 attack on the consulate in Libya that killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans. The investigation in Libya itself has been stalled due to the weak central government in the face of the powerful militias, some of whom may have been involved in the attack.

      Police shot dead a demonstrator near the centre of the Tunisian capital Thursday, witnesses told AFP, in fresh anti-government protests in a wave of unrest rocking the country.Another demonstrator was seriously wounded in the gunfire, said one of the witnesses. Another said the wounded man had died but this was not confirmed.Security forces tried to disperse the protesters by setting off tear gas before opening fire, the witnesses said.
