Air Lease Near Deal to Buy Boeing 737 Max Jets

Ryanair Holdings Plc agreed to buy 175 Boeing Co. 737 jets worth US$15.6 billion at list price to add discount flights in markets vacated by full-service rivals, and said it may opt to add 200 more by the end of the year. Ryanair will initially take the existing 737-800 version of the single-aisle plane, and could become a “lead customer” for the re-engined Max model for the follow-on requirement, Chief Executive Officer Michael O’Leary said on a conference call.

Boeing on Monday said it had won an order worth $7.2 billion (5.86 billion euros) to sell 75 of its new short-haul 737 MAX jets to US group Air Lease."Boeing and Air Lease Corporation announced today a firm order for 60 737 MAX 8 and 15 737 MAX 9 airplanes," the pair announced at the start of the Farnborough airshow near London."The order, with a list-price value of $7.2 billion, represents the first 737 MAX order by a leasing company," they added in a statement.

(Reuters) - United Continental Holdings Inc said it will buy 100 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft and fifty 737-900ER planes in a deal that Boeing valued at $14.7 billion at list prices. United Continental, the holding company that owns United Airlines, the world's largest carrier, said it will begin taking delivery of the 737 MAX 9 planes in 2018.
