By David Alton Clark:The energy sector has not been spared from the recent sell off in the markets. Energy stocks have been taken to the woodshed, so to speak, in recent weeks. Oil prices fell Tuesday as a potential deal between the U.N. nuclear watchdog and Iran on Tehran's nuclear program eased fears of oil supply disruptions, while the eurozone debt crisis continued to threaten economic growth.

    • Stalling European factories and slowing China leave world economy looking to America

LONDON/BEIJING — European manufacturing appeared no closer to recovery last month while growth in Asia cooled, according to business surveys and trade data on Friday that pointed to ongoing weakness in global demand. Purchasing managers’ reports from the United States due later, however, are expected to show growth picking up in the world’s largest economy, after a weak fourth quarter. By David Alton Clark: Overview We are nearing the end of the second quarter. Often this is when a phenomenon known as window dressing takes effect. Money managers sell their losers and buy the quarter's winners in an effort to appear in the know. This process coupled with the extreme correlation in stocks and recent unbridled volatility often results in the creation of significant buying opportunities.

By David Alton Clark:These seven Large Cap stocks have positive catalysts for future growth, are S&P 5 Star rated, have Positive Reuters ratings, and PEG ratios of less than 1 over the trailing twelve months. The PEG ratio is a broadly-used indicator of a stock's prospective worth. It is preferred by numerous analysts over the price/earnings ratio because it also accounts for growth. Similar to the P/E ratio, a lower PEG means that the stock is more undervalued.
